Help us raise $30,000 to purchase 1000 copies of the Muhammad Asad Translation and Commentary of The Quran to be donated to Western mosques and prisons. This work resolves many of the errors and oversights of the Saudi sponsored translations, one example being women's rights.

I'd really appreciate your help... one of the biggest newspapers in my city published a full-page article on Ayaan Hirsi Ali, stating all the usual rubbish. I'd like to write a letter to the editor in response, yet I'm not quite sure what to write. Below is what I've got so far; if anyone can comment/ suggest/ edit I'd really appreciate it. I'd like to get this thing written ASAP, so that I can send it in tomorrow or the day after, insha'Allah.

This is a (very) short piece of fiction that I wrote relatively recently, a result of a bout of angst. But it's not your typical work-of-teenage-angst... and I do hope it'll make you smile!

Please read and comment! As an aspiring writer, I live on feedback - positive or otherwise!

(Note: You may have read it already... it was featured in the last edition of the Carnival of Islam in the West)

On Islam and Various 'Isms

This is one of my first blog entries ever. My fifth blog entry, to be exact. It was written this summer when I had almost nothing to do and therefore ended up spending a lot of time on the Angry Arab blog. Anyway, this post was more like a mental airing-out of the thoughts that were floating around in it.

Keep in mind that at the time I had a pretty simplistic view of things (as will be quite obvious), so please forgive the complete and utter naivete that oozes out of every word!

Little Mosque on the Prairie

As-salaamu 'alaikum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatu, fellow Eterazistanis!

I do apologize for my long absence... but real life can get pretty overwhelming! What with high school (tests and Provincial exams coming up! Aaahh!!), family (my grandpa has pretty much recovered from his heart attack, al-Hamdulillah!), and helping my dad out every evening at the Madrasah, I haven't had much time to kill on the Internet...

Anyhoo, I'd better get to the point!

So as you may or may not know, this week the first episode of Muslim Canadian comedy sitcom "Little Mosque on the Prairie" aired. I didn't get to actually watch it on TV, but some very kind and considerate person on YouTube posted it, so I did get to watch it.
You can watch it, too - here's (http://youtube.com/watch?v=Tu2-lXDe2to) the link to part 1 of the episode (it's split into 4 parts). Just go to the person's profile to find the other 3 parts. Also, just to let you know, it's pretty short - just under half an hour, I should think, if you skip the advertisements.

As-salaamu 'alaikum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatu,

Yeah, I know I'm behind... sorry... I've been busy... anyhoo, here's the latest (a rather hasty job, I'm afraid... I'll edit if I have time, insha'Allah).
