Small measure of good news.

Earlier we launched a small call for action to beseech the Afghan government to protect one of its most honest and vociferous parliamentarians, a woman by the name of Malalai Joya. Our letters reached the Afghan Government and they responded:

Please know that the protective eyes of the world are on your youngest and bravest parliamentarian, Malalai Joya.  She is the canary in the coal mine, and if harm befalls her we will all know that the air of the spirit in Afghanistan has become toxic and your country is dying.

She is your future.  The past that kills its future takes a knife to its own posterity.  The only way the past can live  on is through transformation.  Joya is your daughter, the true daughter of Islam, the key to its survival and its renewed blossoming.  Don't be afraid.
