A jinn is invisible and made of smoke, and under most interpretations of the Quran, one of the co-creations of humanity. To some extent, the jinn are more popular than Muslims in the popular imaginaire. The Economist has a very interesting article related to the jinn called "Born of Fire: Going In Search Of the Jinn." I have previously written a review about a Sufi writer whose novel is entitled "Master of the Jinn" (which book is partly responsible (only partly) for one of our commentators converting to Islam. I have also previously provided a letter about Jinn wives available in Cairo. When some of you loners need a friend; try a Jinn.

"Jinns Are Cool"
Uh guys, I beg to differ. Jinn are not cool, I just attended a lecture by Shakiel Hamayun on Jinni and it was very good. Brothers and sisters... all I can say is that Jinn are definately not cool, see for yourself, in an Islamic exorcism [1], [2], [3].

so cool!  I have passed it along to Big A, but since it took me quite a while to get to reading the book she had used up all her Eid money (from both Eids) at Borders Books and now has 4 other books in line ahead, so I will pass it on to Middle A (who had spent most of her money at Toys R Us, and the only book she bought was a how to book on homework - she takes school super seriously).

As for good Jinn and bad Jinn - wow, have I got stories of Jinn - Bosnians love stories of Jinns.  I will have to write about this man whose mother insisted on calling him in Turkey from Sarajevo so he could tell me about his personal Jinn - very cool to actually talk to someone who had Jinn in his presence.

What about evleeyeh (not sure about that spelling), though - no one ever really talks about them.  I even have stories about that.
