Our global partners, Avaaz.Org, are in The Economist.

I got to chill with some of their folk in the city and consult on a really positive campaign. It's coming out soon. I like it a lot. No, I wasn't the token Muslim. There was also a sister in high-jab and a very fashionable Muslimah as well. I sat next to an MTV producer ("omg! omg! this proves Ali does it all to be famous!") who was able to resist hitting on me.

Check out the ads they ran in Israel/Palestine in Arabic and Hebrew (with English Translations available).

Avaaz.org aren't specialists, some people will complain. They cast a very wide net, say others. They are big picture guys, say others. And: That's exactly why I like them. They give us the ability to be part of a global community whose general worldview towards social justice is the same as ours. Giving us the freedom to focus on the things with which we are most adept. The biggest problem that change oriented people of all type have is that they lose focus and run around like "heads with their chickens cut off" (as my mother put it). Nietzsche, too, railed against letting "pity" run amock. His concern was that if you want to help humanity you do it by focusing on your strength.

Their climate change ad, featuring a sleeping GW, made it to the top 20 of youtube recently.
