I am but a tiny bubble

I am…

I am…. what? What am I? Who am I really? Is there really a purpose for me and everything around me?

Like ‘intersecting circles,’ all beings, you and I… and that lady over there sipping her morning mocha, are all interconnected. What separates us are our many differing purpose at differing times. And these purposes act as mirrors in which we can see or be aware of various Divine Attributes or Names.

For example, imagine yourself as a tiny bubble in a flowing river stream floating about, minding your own business. While you’re enjoying the ride, you are also reflecting the many colors, images, and rays of the sun which shines itself down on you, illuminating you, fulfilling your purpose.

As you come towards a tunnel and pass underneath, it suddenly becomes dark and the images which you were reflecting are no longer seen. In the dark, you think, those images did not belong to you — you cannot own them.

But when you come out of the tunnel and again, the sun shines upon you, you realize that by reflecting these images, you are witnessing the sun’s existence — with or without you. But your purpose, oh tiny bubble, is to embrace not only the mirrors within you, but the sun which is reflected in them because of your existence. This does not mean that the sun depends on you… but that it beckons you to rejoice in yourself and your existence as a beautiful illuminating bubble.
